yay I'm posting!
"When I was growing up my best friend was a unicorn," by Peter, Paul, and Mary. I don't know what the actual title of the song is, but that's part of the chorus. It's amazing!!
It's not to be confused with Shel Silverstein's "The Unicorn Song," infamously recorded by the Irish Rovers. You can't escape hearing that one each St. Patrick's Day.

You mean "Best Friend (The Unicorn Song)" by Margie Adam, which has been recorded by Peter Paul & Mary, among others.
