Ok.... So i haven't gotten all of the kinks and specifics worked out, but I wanna go ahead and stake claim to a paper involving a theme seen in many fantasy and sci fi texts, where the story circles back around to where you started. or maybe something about how often we have stories where the whole adventure occurs without having a real effect on the world around you [outside adventure without time passage occuring in 'real' world]
Like I said.....haven't worked out the entire concept yet.....or chosen texts, but yeah.....any thoughts?

I think if you did the circular concept, you would be using a lot of Ford.
I almost like your other idea better where there are internal adventures that don't affect the outside world. The first thing I thought of when you said that was Link's Magic for Beginner's and then kind of Ford's Coffins on the River. Or come to think of it Boatman's Holiday. Charon didn't even know that he had an adventure at first! Does that help any?
I never thought of it in these terms before, but these "no effect on the outside world" adventures could be read as more sophisticated versions of the "it was all a dream" trope (as in the Judy Garland Wizard of Oz, or the eighth season of Dallas).
I think the 'it was a dream after all!' paper topic would be a lot of fun. You could explore why these experiences are important or...something! Heck, even "Empire of Ice-Cream" counts. The main character, after all, is only an illusion. This is a pretty interesting story because we get it from the p.o.v. of the imaginary character.
